April 14, 2023,DJI announced the DJI Inspire 3, a full-frame 8K cinema drone designed for top-level movie productions. Its integrated design features a 161° ultra-wide FOV night-vision FPV and the O3 Pro transmission and control system. DJI says the Inspire 3 is the only “Cinema-grade” drone supporting RTK-powered waypoint pro and omnidirectional sensing.

DJI has completely redesigned the Inspire 3 with a lightweight, integrated body and a highly portable form factor. The FPV camera, visual sensors, positioning antennas, and storage card slot are seamlessly integrated into the airframe for a minimalist look. The new design supports the newly added tilt boost as well as 360 degrees pan structures. In addition, when the landing gear is lowered, the gimbal supports an obstruction-free 80 degrees upward-angle shooting.

The Inspire 3 is equipped with the lightest ever full-frame Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal camera. The camera also features DJI’s latest image processing system, CineCore 3.0. This supports internal video recording of up to 8K video as well as 8K at 75f ps Apple ProRes RAW. In addition, in S&Q mode, it can record internally up to full-frame 4K at 120 fps in ProRes RAW.

The new Spotlight Pro feature uses powerful machine-learning algorithms to offer cinematographers single-object recognition and tracking. Pilots can focus solely on the flight while the gimbal camera stays automatically focused on the subject.

The Inspire 3 is equipped with nine visual sensors. Meaning, its sensing system can detect obstacles in all directions and provide comprehensive protection for flying. But for more creative freedom, horizontal, upward, and downward obstacle sensing can be enabled or disabled independently.

The DJI Inspire 3 will retail at $16,499.
